High School Athletic Plan for Governors Orders on Gatherings and Spectators Revised

Liberty Charter School COVID 19 Protocols for Summer Sports Programs:
The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person contact. As a result, federal, state, and local governments, and federal and state health agencies recommend social distancing and have, in many locations, prohibited the congregation of groups of people.

Liberty Charter School (LCS) has put in place protective measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19; however, LCS cannot guarantee that you or your child(ren) will not become infected with COVID-19. Further, attending activities on the LCS campus could increase your risk and your child(ren)’s risk of contracting COVID-19. In order for your child(ren) to participate in LCS summer activities either on the LCS campus or elsewhere, the document below must be completed and signed by a parent(s) and child(ren) of LCS before the student is allowed to participate in any LCS voluntary summer activities. The signed form can be turned in to either a coach or the Athletic Director.

Fall Sports Parent/Athlete Meeting
The fall sports informational meeting will be Tuesday, August 10 at 6:00 P.M. in the McKnight-Bryant Center auditorium. This will be for junior high and high school sports of cross country and volleyball. Completed athletic handbooks and doctor's physicals will be collected at that time, and competition and bus schedules will be available.

Attention Student-Athletes:
All students wishing to go out for a team must have a current physical on file with Mr. Wachsmuth.  Each family will need to read and complete an Athletic Handbook, pay a $35 activity fee per high school aged child in order to start practice, and each student-athlete must have a valid doctor's physical.  All 9th and 11th graders must have a new physical dated on or after May 1, 2019, per IHSAA rules.  All three of those things will need to be completed before any student can start practice.  If you have any questions, please email Mr. Wachsmuth at mwachsmuth@libertycharterschool.com.
